Welcome to Grace & Grit — a blog about following Jesus in the middle of real life: not the polished, picture-perfect version, but the everyday reality of joy and struggle, hope and disappointment, grace and perseverance. Here you’ll find honest, biblical, and practical reflections on discipleship, church life, identity, culture, and the challenge of walking faithfully with Christ when life gets hard — sometimes thoughtful, sometimes humorous, sometimes challenging, but always aimed at helping people keep going with both grace and grit.
Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Dave — a Christian, a husband, a dad to two amazing kids, and leader of Freedom Church Chester. Life is usually fuelled by mediocre coffee, church community, family chaos, our dogs, and I take any excuse to escape into the Welsh hills for fresh air and a decent view. I try to keep things honest and real, not writing as someone who has everything sorted, but as someone learning to follow Jesus through struggles, weaknesses, failures, questions, and the slow ongoing work of God’s grace in ordinary life. Grace & Grit is about faith forged in the real world — not polished, performative Christianity, but theology for everyday life, and truth with dirt on its boots.
